Zodiac art work with DIY picture frames and info card made on my cricut machine

After holding onto this artwork for years and years I finally make something of it. I think these pieces will always be a favorite of mine. Just love how they look. The colors, the design, just everything. Tell me in the comments what your zodiac sign is and if you think the descriptive words apply to you or someone you know of that sign.

Incredible transformation on the liquor cabinet for pennies and in about an hour

I have loved this cabinet for years. I didn't pay very much for it so I felt it a perfect thing to makeover. My husband said NO PAINTING it. LOL!! I honored his wishes until 2020 HA! Anyway, I did not paint the wood itself but I did paint something that completely changed the look and feel of this extra-special piece. By far this is my favorite, most affordable, easiest, fastest DIY ever!! I've been changing the look of wood furniture for years and years and THIS one topped everything. Leave me a comment if you've ever seen a better major transformation for pennies, in minutes and as little effort before. Tag me on Instagram under JunkShackBaby if you try this technique yourself. Winter Wonderland Christmas Crafts from DollarTree - Reindeer Rides - Thrifted wreath/greenery

With a winter wonderland theme in mind, I used leftover dollar tree supplies to make these cute reindeer rides decor, wreath, and ornament Christmas tree. I am totally loving silver and white this year with a bit of "plant" green thrown in. Plants everywhere and I think it compliments the white and silver so very nicely. Gives me that warm, cozy feeling each time I look at everything.

All supplies are from dollar tree except the thrifted wreath and a bit of the greenery. Subscribe to my channel here, and on Facebook and please, follow me on Instagram. I have loads of fun over there. Merry Happy Good!! #dollartreechristmas #reindeerrides #winterwonderland

DIY Christmas tree trunk from a lamp base - Excellent thrift flip and trash to treasure all at once!

Using a sturdy lamp base for a Christmas tree trunk or base. You can find a little tree, or like I do in the video use the top of a bigger tree.

This idea is so versatile you can use any kind of lamp base, metal or wood, tall or small, fancy or plain. What to do with broken trees? Lots of folks throw out Christmas trees because the lights don't work or some of the pieces are missing. Just use the topper!! It makes the perfect size tree for these "stands." Tag me on Instagram if you do this simple project. Comment below if you plan to do it! #TrashToTreasure #ThriftFlip #WinterWonderland

Bookshelves decorated for Christmas Winter Wonderland-Imagine a walk in the snowy white woods

Check out how I am turning our home into a winter wonderland. After gathering all of the little and medium trees in my collection I decorated these bookshelves in a "walk in the woods" look. I had the two big churches that light up, and I added dollar tree houses painted white. I also added dollar tree figurines. A lot of these things I have just collected over the years. The entire time I decorated this I was singing in my head "In the meadow we can build a snowman... Name him Parson Brown. He'll say are you married, we'll say no man but you can do the job when your in town."

Mantelpiece and mirror decorate with me + Santa brings me furniture for my bare living room

New Furniture? Thank you Santa Clause! Come along with me while I decorate my fireplace mantel and the mirror that hangs above it. This year Ive chosen a white and silver winter wonderland theme. The mantel has the nativity on it currently but is likely to change a handful of times through the season

Speaking of season, this is the first time EVER I have put Christmas decorations up before Thanksgiving. Usually I even wait until the 2nd week of December. This year though, I needed it. Needed the bright lights, the soothing music, the wonderful smells of the season. Next video : Decorate the bookshelves in a winter wonderland that feels like a quiet midnight walk through the woods while its snowing. #Christmasdecoratewithme #ChristmasFireplace #SilverandwhiteChristmas

Reusable sign - Chalkboard - Pic backdrop - Trash to Treasure - Clay paint makes a great chalkboard

This is a trash to treasure of sorts.  I had this giant mirror on a very heavy wood frame which was used to attach it to a dresser.  I very simply took the mirror off the frame.  Hung the mirror and had this great wood sign kinda thing leftover.  With a little Debi's Design Diary Paint in various colors, I turn this into a very cool chalkboard and also a great backdrop to make signs for this youtube channel.

Another Rope Rug - I am getting a Mid Century vibe from this one - Black&White goes with everything

Rope rug number two!! This one is made with nylon rope and a black rug from Dollar Tree. Under $10 and can be used in so many different ways. It would be super cool layered on another larger black rug. Great for under a kitchen sink or stove.

Change up the design to suit your decor. Tassels would be soooo cool instead of fringe. Hit subscribe to see if I make yet another rope rug! Check out my BoHo Rope rug video here https://youtu.be/iZsjJEQC7GY #JunkShackBaby #DIYRopeRug #MidCenturyVibe

Thrifted plastic dollhouse into a Mansion? DIY Spooky Halloween Village for $6.00? Whaaat? So easy!

Take a plastic dollhouse and spray paint it for a spooky Halloween Mansion. With a few of these houses, you can make an entire city! The more I thought about this project the more idea's I had for it. I really wanted to get this video out so that you have time to find these houses and get them decorated for your Halloween festivities!

You can paint them with a little more detail to really set the stage. You can do more landscaping with simple items found at Dollar Tree and some paint. I used a pair of "trees" I'd plucked the flowers off of and painted them white as background dead tree's. Paint them black for even more spookiness! The ideas are really endless!! If I do anything else to my village I will be sure to share a quick update on my Facebook Page. If you are not already subscribed over there, please do so now ;) Thanks a bunch for watching! If you would like to have a look at projects I completed before having the guts to upload videos to youtube, then please check my blog junkshack.blogspot.com Thanks for taking the time to watch my video. Wood bead garland and a DIY picture frame with cool art work

Found a box of these wood balls at a local thrift shop. Even though I had to drill holes in each one, it was well worth it. This beaded garland is soooo cute! The artwork is a neat puzzle and the frame is made from the Dollar Tree game called Tumbling Towers. I painted the frame with Debi's Design Diary paint of various colors and coated it with a clear satin spray paint. I have less than $3.00 in each of these projects. Shooot, I barely have $5.00 in them both combined!!

Wedding in two weeks and on a budget? You betcha!! Spray paint everything white or tan to match!

We had two weeks to prepare for a small family wedding with the reception to be held in our back yard. I turned fall decor into a neutral color and shopped Dollar Tree for most of the items.

Everything turned out sooooo beautifully!! The day was almost as gorgeous as the bride, my daughter.

Eye Wash Glasses and a new home for them. Great Trash to Treasure storage idea for anything.

Gnome-Ville Series Finale "THE MOVIE"

Drone's view over Gnome-Ville Finale "The Movie". The video says to take the pill. I recommend you take the pill. It's a virtual pill. It's all for effect. To skip the craft and go right to "THE MOVIE" move your cursor to 3:50 in the timeline of this video. I have had this ongoing series of painting what I have seen in my head, for months. It began simply enough..."What would I have thought was super cool when I was young. Faires and gnomes intrigued me, sooooo I came up with GnomeVille, and then it turned into "Drones view over Gnome-Ville". I even painted a sweet wood column into Gnome-Ville. You can watch that video here https://youtu.be/_WjpsDdmFDs Gnome-Ville series from the beginning. DIY Mini Apothecary Wood Drawers - Craft storage - Spice storage - Work Bench storage - Toy storage

I picked up nine of the cube drawer boxes from Dollar Tree and glued them together. Using a little paint and a lot of water I made a stain for the outside and painted the drawers black. This thing is so adorable! It can be used in so many different applications. I will probably use it in the craft room for my beads, pearls, junk jewelry, and "littles" that have no home. My hubby thought it'd be great as guitar repair pieces storage. I also thought about buying a bunch more and making an advent calendar for Christmas. THAT would be sooooo adorable! Maybe dye the wood green instead and paint the boxes white!! #JunkShackBaby #DollarTreeDIY #ApothecaryStorage

Table makeover with Heirloom Traditions Paint "Make a wish" on my wish table!

A gorgeous and easy to make table.  Made especially for wishing.  I used Heirloom Traditions paint in the color of Polo from their "All in one" line.  The "wish" stickers are from Walmart but from a while ago, maybe 3ish years.  The perfect size of this table is what makes it so attractive.  It can be used as a coffee table, an end table, and even a nightstand.  Currently, it sits behind my couch which backs to a walkway.  Come Christmas time it will be decorated with blue and white decor.  I can hardly wait!!!

15 minute dinner - Cajun Carbonara Pasta with store bought white sauce

Make this dinner in 15 minutes or less with a few pantry staples. Its cheesy, spicy, and oh soooo good. I use andouille sausage for mine but any link sausage will work. Sometimes we add fresh tomatoes and green onions at the very end. Round out this yummy meal with garlic bread and a side salad. Makes great leftovers too!! #15minutedinner #CajunPasta #JunkShackBaby

DIY this Boho Rug for $10 or less using items from Dollar Tree - So many possibilities, just imagine

Everything for this excellent idea was purchased at Dollar Tree. Check out @JustinWrey on youtube for this inspiration https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQz4t-0xkyM. Design options are endless for you to make one for yourself. In this video, I used the nautical rope from Dollar Tree. I have just $10 into this project, not including glue sticks. The end result is just like a high-end rug. This is an all-cotton rope and I believe that is why the hot glue worked so well. I am confident this rug can take wear and tear except for the part about not being able to wash it. Keeping it out of the walkway and in a "pretty" spot is probably for the best. I know I'll be making another or three!! (already have one started ;) ) #BohoRopeRug #DollarTree #JunkShackBaby

Garden Tour June 2020

This video is really a document for me to reference back to.  Its the first summer with this new house and the enjoyment it has brought watching all of these grow has been wonderous.  I feel we were so lucky to buy this place because the gardens are a bonus.  I have planted so many things at other homes and I didn't get to see them all mature.  THIS home is giving me that tenfold.  There are a few things I will move around this fall but otherwise, I love everything and its location.
Thanks for stopping by!

Tye-Dye Dining room chair with paint

I found this chair in my neighbor's trash.  Id always wanted to try the chalk paint technique on fabric and this chair provided me that opportunity for free.
I did not originally start out to tye dye the fabric I really wanted it to look reupholstered with grannies old fabric but tye dye is what came to mind.
Although I do like the way the chair turned out, I am not sure I'll ever be able to bring it inside.  The smell of the wax I used is noxious.  If one were to use a different wax, perhaps something made for fabric then I think it'd be fine.
My paint kind of sat on top of the fabric which made it stiff and crackly.  We will still use it but likely only in the garage.

Painting Grandpa's table with DIY Paint and a chit-chat about favorite games ;)

This video is hilarious!! My 4-year-old grandson tells me EVERYTHING about Minecraft. He was spending the day with grandma when I was buffing the wax on this sweet table. Because of that, I decided to add some commentary about MY favorite kinda games, too. The table is painted with Debi's Design Diary paint in Farm Fresh, Bohemian Blue, and Little Black Dress. I used a floor paste wax from my local hardware store to give it a durable and long-lasting finish. One of my favorite little tables and I loooove this update. Thanks for watching! Please hit that like button if you enjoyed this video. If you didn't care for the video... that's too bad. Maybe next time. #JunkShackBaby #DIYPaint #FurnitureUpdate

I hope you enjoy it!

Painting my favorite desk with DIY clay based paint

Painted this desk with Debi's Design Diary DIY paint in the color "Hey Sailor". I waxed it with paste wax from Home Depot. So very happy with the results! I practiced an aging technique with an old credit card on this piece and although I LOOOOVE the effect, I did not use it on the entire desk, just the backside. Subscribe to my channel to see what I do use that technique on. Tour our Garden - Peppermint Carpet - Yellow Finch birds are crazy!! - LOVE Purple Iris Flowers

We are having so much fun learning all the new flowers and plants at this new place. The folks that lived here before us sure loved the yard and it shows. I have been hesitant to cut anything back while waiting to see if its gonna be something when it grows up. The dirt in the flower beds is dark black. Black Gold!!! We are hoping all of the veggies grow... We've planted tomatoes, lots of different hot chili peppers, carrots, potatoes, cabbage, green beans, lettuce, radishes, eggplant, and a bunch of herbs. Keep your fingers crossed we have a bumper crop this year!! Happy Spring! Book Box Makeover - Treasure Box - Feels like Steampunk Industrial

This old wine box needed a facelift. Using broken pieces of jewelry, some Mardi Gras beads, and some DIY paint from Debi's Design Diary I made it over into something worthy of storing so many different treasures. From childhood bits and baubles to extra craft supplies and even bullets. This box feels very steampunk to me and would look killer sitting on a shelf or coffee table. #DIYpaint #Steampunk #Industrial

"The Perfect Storm" Jewelry Box Makeover

This jewelry box came to me many years ago and I have always wanted to paint it. HERE is the paint job. It is fondly named "The Perfect Storm" because of the color and the storm it/I went through to be this beauty. I learned a whole lot about painting with Debi's Design Diary Paint. It's very pigmented so it's rich in color. Water is your friend. Water thins it and helps it to blend better. The colors I used here are "Farm Fresh", "Hey Sailor", "Bohemian Blue", and "Mermaid Tale". I can hardly wait for the next piece to bring to life!

Quarantine Quesadillas - Spicy Pork Sausage w/Chicken - Green Peppers & Onion Baked in the Oven

Our local Denny's makes a dinner of this. I tried to copy theirs since we both love it so much. Essentially it's enough peppers and onions, chicken and spicy sausage to fill as many quesadillas as you will need for your family. This video shows enough for 6 quesadillas. My husband eats 3 or 4 and I eat 1. Add your choice of cheese and condiments like sour cream, salsa, guacamole. This meal is fast if your meat is already cooked. Usually, we grill a bag of chicken each week so it's simple to throw something together, and this is super easy. I put the skins in the oven just long enough to toast them up. Broil about 1 min until as crispy as you prefer. Remove immediately. Flip them over and then decorate with mixture, add top skin and slide in the preheated oven to melt cheese. After browned, remove from oven and slice with a pizza cutter. Enjoy!!

Pork Carnitas Mexican Style Dinner

Pork Carnitas is such a wonderful Mexican style meal. Perfect for a crowd, too! If you are interested in a guesstimate recipe I will list it below for a 1-2 lb piece of meat. All of my measurements are close. Feel free to add more or less of anything listed. 1 1/2 lbs of pork roast cut into 1-2 inch pieces 2 large onions - 1 to cook meat with, 1 to broil when meat is done 2 large oranges juiced and cut in quarters 1/4 cup orange juice if you have no oranges 3 TBS oil of your choice enough to coat all of the meat, oranges, and onions 2 tsp cumin 1 tsp cinnamon 2 tsp chili powder 2 bay leaves 2 garlic cloves or to taste salt & pepper to taste Mix thoroughly coating each piece of meat, onions and orange pieces Bake 3 hours or until fork-tender. Drain and transfer to a baking dish discarding orange pieces and cover with sliced onions. Broil for 3-4 minutes, stir and broil 3-4 minutes again. Repeat until everything is crispy. Use meat in tortilla skin or taco shell or even taco chips then add cheese and your favorite toppings. Enjoy!!

Homemade Cheesy Ham & Vegetable Soup with Velveeta - Comfort food deluxe on a snowy day

This comfort food soup is easy to whip up if you have Velveeta cheese. You can add ham as the video shows, but I have added bacon instead and it was dynamite! No meat works too. The vegetables also can be made to suit. Use more or less of whatever you have on hand or love. I normally serve it with a sandwich to help my hubby feel more full because he does not believe soup can be a meal on its own. This soup is what cravings are made of. If you try it, please let me know in the comments below. Thanks for watching! K

Homemade DIY Chalk Paint - Any color - Any Brand of Paint - Save $$ - No sanding

3 parts flat paint + 1 part Plaster-of-Paris and water = Homemade chalk paint! You can paint almost anything with this paint. It will have a chalky feel so you have to apply some sort of protective finish. I use SC Johnson Paste wax. You have to distress BEFORE applying a finish of wax, or poly. This can be made with any color or brand of flat latex paint. Make sure your item is clean and free of dust. No need to sand before as chalk paint is self-leveling and forms a protective hard layer. Comment below if you plan to try my recipe.

GNOME VILLE - DIY Gnome & Fairy House - Gnome Flower Garden - Painting Gnome Flowers

Such a cute DIY! I have always wanted to do something with the inside of this slim cabinet. After putting tiny books inside for my 4-year-old grandson, it dawned on me that I could so easily make this piece into a Gnome Home. Most of the gnome figures, houses and fairy's came from Dollar Tree. I know you can buy them at Walmart too. When I was little my mother made little dollhouse tables, chairs, beds, couches out of small boxes. That gave me the idea of making my own little gnome cafe. Gnomey's gotta have coffee too!! Thanks for watching!!

Grocery store fried chicken salad-leftover-comfort food-home made-meal prep-Hors D'oeuvres

This is the best snicky-snack to make with leftover fried chicken. Buy the family pack of chicken to assure leftovers! The amounts in this video make about 8-10 white bread sandwichs. It could make endless hors d'oeuvres that are super easy to throw together. Feel free to add veggies or nuts of your choice. My hubby doesn't like the fruit so much, so I make it for his lunches. You can use low-fat mayo, or even play around with plain yogurt. The recipe as it appears in the video: 3 cups bite-size pieces leftover fried chicken, crispy bits included 1 1/2 cups mayo - more or less for desired creaminess 1 stalk of chopped celery Half a sweet onion 2-3 chopped pickles or teaspoon of pickle relish 1-2 splashes of apple cider vinegar 2 pinches of sugar Mix well, let chill for 1-2 hours if you can handle it. Otherwise, eat immediately. You could also add 10-12 grapes halved and or quartered Chopped pecans Sliced and quartered apple sprinkled with lemon juice Mandarin orange slices Great on crackers, bread or straight out of the bowl.
