New to us Home Tour. We were fortunate to know the folks that flipped this home and able to watch it morph into the beauty that it is today. I include before pics as I had them. This is our forever home, we are not moving again unless one of us hits the lotto and we can just walk away because we have moved 6 times in 6 years and I am not interested in doing it again. Before & After of "The Mansion" Lighting, Flooring, Paint, Bathrooms, Updated Kitchen, New Porch

Selling this home is the reason we are able to buy another home in town.
Not 20 miles from the closest civilization.   It was great having this place for 5 years, and we learned a lot of things while fixing it up.  Mainly that we don't wish to fix up another.  :)

The new-to-us home is totally rehabbed and beautiful!

Little Brown Truck with a Dollar Tree red truck-$2 Craft Idea-Woodland Christmas-Old Fashion Truck

Little Brown Truck with a Dollar Tree red truck-$2 Craft Idea-Woodland Christmas-Old Fashion Truck

Woodland Little Brown Truck from a Little Red Truck bought at Dollar Tree.  Easy craft will go in any decor.  Paint it your color!  Looks gorgeous on my Buffalo Check Wreath.

All of these items are easily obtained.  Dollar Tree and Walmart have these little red trucks perfect for painting and decorating.  I used Word to type the "signs" and then printed on my printer with normal paper.  Using paint ages and makes the signs appear vintage.  1923 to be exact ;)

Pot Roast with Potatos-Onions-Wine-Chuck Roast-S&P-Anything Tomato-Roaster-Sunday Dinner

Pot Roast with Potatos-Onions-Wine-Chuck Roast-S&P-Anything Tomato-Roaster-Sunday Dinner

Super easy Pot Roast!  Sunday Dinner anyone?  Meat and Potatoes.  Great leftovers.  Feed a crowd.  Check out how I make dinner and lunches for two, for a week.

Ingredient and Cooking Instructions
Pot Roast - I used a 3.85 lb roast for these measurements
Potatoes for your crowd
350 oven
Salt and pepper every side of the roast.  Sear in smoking hot pan or cast iron.  Remove.
Add wine as you choose.  If no wine, increase beef broth, I used bullion cubes to make 2ish cups.
Let cook down, scraping bottom of roaster.
Add onions, cut half down
Add meat on top of onions, add remaining broth
Add seared roast
Cover and cook one hour for every pound.  Add potatoes the last hour if not roasting.

Roasted potatoes
Mix 2 TBS olive oil with 3 shakes of garlic powder and 4-5 dashes of salt and pepper, to your taste.  Coat potatoes, and place on cookie sheet.
Cook at 350 degrees for last hour of roast cooking time
Optional, sprinkle parmesan cheese on potatoes halfway through cooking time
Enjoy!

Take a midnight walk with me in a "Winter Wonderland" Build a Snowman, call him Parson Brown

Take a midnight walk with me in a "Winter Wonderland" Build a Snowman, call him Parson Brown

The third and final video in the series "Decorate your mantle with what you have"
This video gave me the FEELS.  My favorite video, ever.  My own video!

First video a "Woodland Theme" in this "decorate with what you have" series here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XEyl...

Quickie "use what you have" decor for a "Walk in a Winter Wonderland" theme on the fireplace mantle.

I HAD SO MUCH FUN COMING UP WITH THIS VIDEO!

It is so hard to decide what to use where in this small house.  There are three, and maybe four different ways to decorate this fireplace.  I couldn't decide so I'll just do all of them, video it and watch my videos to see which is best.
Most of these items had been purchased many years ago.  I very much love the silver, white and blue.  There is not much blue in this, although if all of my Christmas items were unpacked, it wouldn't scream winter wonderland in the way that it does with just the lighting.  I'll be able to use it somewhere in my home every year.
Tell me what you think in the comments, and please let me know what you thought of this "Quickie series" of "mantle with what you have"?

Breakfast with a SECRET ingredient!! Perfect for leftovers, or even dinner tonight - Sausage - Eggs

Breakfast with a SECRET ingredient!!  Perfect for leftovers, or even dinner tonight - Sausage - Eggs

The secret ingredient is...............

STEAK FRIES!
This is so easy to make and stores nicely for weekday breakfasts that just need a minute in the microwave.  Sure to fill up those deer hunters, or any working man/woman.
You can certainly add other things to your taste.  We like it with sausage or ham the best.

Halloween Banner Decor - Black Cats - Ghosts - Fireplace Mantle - DIY - Dollar Tree - Scary and Cute

Halloween Banner Decor - Black Cats - Ghosts - Fireplace Mantle - DIY - Dollar Tree - Scary and Cute

I used the black cats as the centerpiece of this DIY, but you could use pumpkins, ghosts, whatever suits your style and everything is from Dollar Tree.  I made other crafts and had these things leftover.

I hung this banner along my stairwell, and over a window, but it looked the best on the fireplace mantle.  I think I'll be able to store it nicely in a plastic bag after the holiday.  The paper is from Walmart and really makes it adorable.

Mid-Century Wall Sconce - Dollar Tree Items - DIY - Battery lights - Only $3.00 each!!

These Wall Sconce's cost only $3.00 each!!!
All Dollar Tree items, and so easy to DIY you will be shocked.
You will need from the Halloween section the skull on a pedestal, from the kitchen section a pack of funnels, and from the hardware section, a puck LED light.
I had the paint, glue and scrap wood on hand.  You could also use a tray from the houseware section to glue your light on, instead of the wood as I have done.

Soooo many folks are making sconces with items from DT, but they didn't feel like "me".   They were all very farmhouse'y.  I wanted something a bit more mid-century feeling.  These feel mid-century to me.  I think you could point the light up towards the ceiling or down to the floor, as I have in this video.

I am mentioning here that when the light is on, it appears as if there is a big boobie on the wall.
I KNOW that.
I am choosing to keep my acknowledgment here in the description so that only people who take the time to read this, know I know.
At this point in my youtube plan, I welcome the comments.  LOL!

How to make Buffalo Check Print in a couple hours - Plaque - DIY - Cricut decal - Farmhouse

How to make Buffalo Check Print in a couple hours - Plaque - DIY - Cricut decal - Farmhouse

I have seen this done a gazillion times on youtube.  Decided to give it a try.
There is nothing hard about this project, except the "need" to line up your tape exactly.  Although it doesn't show too badly, my checks are not perfectly lined up.  Applying the decal helped a bit, but to my eye, it will always stand out.  I guess that makes this a good candidate for another update in the future.  LOL!

The easiest NO-SEW Buffalo Check pillow slipcovers ever!

The easiest NO-SEW Buffalo Check pillow slipcovers ever!

I inherited the material for this project. Carried it around for about 3 years before finally deciding to use it to spruce up my dining area. I actually do have a sewing machine and know how to sew, but couldn't figure out how to use it after only 10 years. LOL! When I want a project, I want a project NOW! Right. Now. This gave such a cozy, warm update to my dining room. It is the first room you see when you come in, so I wanted it to feel comfortable and inviting.

DIY Front Porch Lantern Made with Scrap Wood

DIY Front Porch Lantern Made with Scrap Wood

I looked and looked for a lantern. Problem was the budget. I didn't want to spend over $10 on one, simply because I knew I wanted 2 or 3! LOL There are a gazillion videos on lanterns from Dollar Tree, it's just that they all looked like they were made from items from Dollar Tree. Finally, I was fed up with my options and asked hubby what kind of scrap wood we had. Low and behold he came up with a pile of it. This video is my first shot. If you stick around, you will see what the others look like in a future video. It is proof that if I can do this, then anyone can. It's nice to have a bandsaw, and some of the power tools I do have available to me, but this project can be done with hand tools. Saw, screwdriver, paint. Thanks for spending a few minutes on my channel!

Fall Living/Dining Room Tour 2019 - Minimal Fall Decor - Dollar Tree Florals - Witches Flight School

Fall Living/Dining Room Tour 2019 - Minimal Fall Decor - Dollar Tree Florals - Witches Flight School

We have a small home, so I only decorate the front room and kitchen.  I prefer my color to be on the front porch.  Kept it minimal inside.  Here are just a few of my favorite things.

Inside the bar cabinet, you will see a small statue of witches falling off a pumpkin with a sign that says "Witches Flight School"  I painted that in 1995!  Still my most treasured Fall item.

It was so easy to remove candlesticks from candlestick holders and place a pumpkin on top.  I did that in a bunch of places.  Hope it inspires you to try to beautify your home with what you have on hand.
Thanks for taking the moment to watch my meager home fall tour.  Happy Fall!!

Witchy Halloween Potion and Spell bottles with ACTUAL Potion hand soap DIY Dollar Tree items

Witchy Halloween Potion and Spell bottles with ACTUAL Potion hand soap DIY Dollar Tree items

Watch how I make the scariest potion bottles for display and an ACTUAL potion of hand soap.  These are an easy DIY craft, with minimal materials needed.  Everything for these projects was purchased at Dollar Tree.

First I make 3 bottles with spooky labels that I found on google and printed off on my computer.
Second I use a pump soap dispenser from Dollar Tree to make "Kitchen" sink "potion.  Gave one to each of my daughters and kept one for myself.

White Castle Sliders - Feed a crowd - Great Football Snack - Velvetta Cheese - Onion Soup Mix

White Castle Sliders

If you are craving White Castles, then give this a try. If you love it, please share it and let me know you made it. White Castle Slider Recipe 1 1/2 lbs of ground beef, cooked and drained 1 can of Cream of Mushroom soup *no other liquid* 1 packet of Onion Soup Mix 6 oz of Velvetta *oz's are marked on the foil packaging* 16 Slider Buns Preheat oven to 400 Brown burger, add Cream of Mushroom soup and Onion Soup packet. Stir and stir and stir until completely mixed and onions are moist. I stir until I can smell the onion. Add Velvetta chunks. Stir and stir and stir until completely melted. Yes, there is a lot of stirring/mixing in this recipe. Place teaspoon of meat mixture on each slider bun. Using too much meat makes the sandwich overly strong. Spread smooth, replace bun top. Place all sliders in a foil packet and insert in the preheated oven for 10 mins. This slider recipe was passed down from a girlfriend. Everyone says their White Castle sliders are the best, but I am here to tell you..... THIS recipe tastes exactly like White Castle Double Cheese. I have had a few others, but this one blows doors on everything else.

Spooky Night Halloween Decor DIY Dollar Tree items

Spooky Night Halloween Decor

This was a fun project. Rolling brown craft paper until it is malleable is tricky. Stick with it and your tree will be knarly and warped just like mine. All of these products came from Dollar Tree. I think it cost about $3.00 to make. I had paint and craft paper on hand. I am taking this craft to a girl's family craft party at the cabin. It is easy enough for children over 5, and adults will LOVE it! This idea came from another Youtube'r Courtney at "Creative on the Cheap" I honestly tried to make it a little different, but her's was so stinking cute with the ghosts, I had to keep them. I do plan to offer ghosts, cats, and pumpkins to the girls, so I will let you know how those turn out!! Don't forget to head over to Creative on the Cheap for a million other wonderful ideas for every season!
