3 parts flat paint + 1 part Plaster-of-Paris and water = Homemade chalk paint!
You can paint almost anything with this paint. It will have a chalky feel so you have to apply some sort of protective finish. I use SC Johnson Paste wax. You have to distress BEFORE applying a finish of wax, or poly.
This can be made with any color or brand of flat latex paint. Make sure your item is clean and free of dust. No need to sand before as chalk paint is self-leveling and forms a protective hard layer.
